# Introduction

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the potential of the “ReachingOut framework” and the implementations it enables while providing insights into the understanding of adolescent’s resistance and non-compliance to psychotherapy. The article describes three major components of ReachingOut that I utilized intuitively in my early professional years. I will describe this component and triangulated its base on previously published academic reports describing elements of these techniques that are referred to in this paper. The RO framework aspires to provide a new way to engage with adolescents in a productive relationship, enabling the creation of a good therapeutic alliance and establishment of the therapeutic process. It is not meant to serve as a protocol but to offer an approach for therapists, which aspires for flexibility and openness, qualities that are necessary for working with adolescents. There is a need for further future research to improve the understanding of the unique circumstances occurring when changing the classical clinical setting. Among those subjects demanding further research is the change in therapist's role, authority, disclosure and more.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://reachingout-2015.gitbook.io/ofer_erez/introductionmd.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
